HISTORY
Raleigh officially joined the Sister Cities movement in 1984 following an initiative by Mayor Pro Tem Ed Walters to promote global understanding and friendly relations.
The organization established its first partnership with Hull, England, in 1987, and has since expanded to include several international cities across the globe.
