Kingston upon Hull, also called Hull, city and unitary authority, geographic county of East Riding of Yorkshire, historic county of Yorkshire, England. It lies on the north bank of the River Humber estuary at its junction with the River Hull, 22 miles from the North Sea. After suffering heavy damage in the Second World War (the "Hull Blitz"),  the city saw large amounts of new retail, commercial, housing and public service construction spending in the early 21st century spending boom. Tourist attractions include The Hull People's Memorial, the historic Old Town and Museum Quarter, marina and The Deep aquarium. Rugby league football teams include clubs Hull F.C. and Hull Kingston Rovers. Hull was declared a "City of UK Culture" in 2017
