Raleigh Sister Cities Invites Youth to Participate in 2026 International Arts Showcase
Raleigh, NC — Raleigh Sister Cities is proud to join Sister Cities International in launching the 2026 Young Artists and Authors Showcase (YAAS), inviting local youth to share their creativity on a global stage.
This year’s theme, “Voices of Today, Visions of Tomorrow,” calls on young artists and authors to reflect on a historic moment as the United States marks its 250th anniversary and Sister Cities International celebrates 70 years of advancing global friendships and cultural understanding. The theme highlights the ongoing journey from the nation’s founding ideals toward a more interconnected and peaceful world.
Through YAAS, Raleigh Sister Cities is deepening its commitment to global engagement by providing students ages 12–18 the opportunity to explore international perspectives through art, writing, photography, and music. Selected entries will advance to international recognition through Sister Cities International’s worldwide network.
“Programs like YAAS create powerful opportunities for Raleigh’s youth to engage in global dialogue and share their perspectives beyond borders,” said Mary Clare Freeman, RSC President. “This initiative reflects our mission to foster mutual respect, cultural exchange, and meaningful connections between Raleigh and its sister cities.”
Submissions will be reviewed locally, with top entries representing Raleigh on the international stage.
